EVALUATION FEEDBACK ON WORK SO FAR
KEELEY: good so far but lots still to do, don't forget to use the AS 2010 homepage for inspiration and to incorporate images. Also, the font size is too small and you should highlight key words to help your examiner.
ZOE: Q1: Your examiner may not know Wix- make it clear that there's a page to turn with an arrow and Turn the page tab. Remember to use the AS 2010 homepage for inspiration and to give you direction e.g. Use Develop Challenge should have a section each and you should explain your choices fully
Q2: Good- Don't forget terminology - stereotypes, preferred readings etc
Q3:V Good, it isn't completely clear that the page continues below the home screen and your excellent work could be missed, perhaps an arrow or a Read Me sign?
Q4 is Who would be the audience for your media product? Don't reword it. From there onwards, progressing very well with clear understanding and an interesting array of multimedia techniques
OLIVIA: q1 & 2 excellent detail and understanding q3: distribute spelled wrongly in title and make it clear that page continues downwards- great info could be missed q4- would is spelled wrongly and needs more detail and images q5: excellent, again, make it clear that the icons are links, great work q6: great video- it was the lack of memory on the pcs that was the problem, not the programme, it's still premier pro on the macs but don't change it as the rest of your answer is detailed and relevant q7: there's more to say- music etc
LIZZIE: Good homepage but the tabs are tricky to activate make the box larger or point out that the link is just below the shape- an impatient examiner won't take the time Q1 - good work but add a click me tab so that the examiner can find the information Also there's an extra page between develop and challenge so it could be missed Q2: Again, point out that the booklet needs to be clicked on the corner Q3: focus on British film distributors for a British film Q4: You need to specify the certification Q5: you've mispelled audience in the title Q6: Well done for adding the turn page instruction but it can't be seen against the red and white background, place it over the white section if poss Q7 - preliminary tash? but good detail. Well done.

Audience Feedback From The Transition Survey
This is the feedback I gained form my survey on transitions. It helped when editing our opening sequence as we developed an idea of what people expect from a thriller film and what fits the genre better such as fades and dissolves as the transition shown. Although, with the five people I asked, the feedback for when the transition should start was a bit mixed and hard to see the initial decision for what fits a thriller best. To sort this out I could produce more surveys with a larger pool of candidates and add more specific questions, using the current survey as a pilot survey. A majority of people said that they don't notice transitions made when watching a thriller and think that they should be subtle to enhance the vibe of the film. I also found that all five people said that they think the transitions should be similar to each other.

Film Poster for Losing Gracey
This is my final draft of a film advertisement poster for Losing Gracey.
I have taken inspiration from the other thriller posters in my film poster research post and have used a close up of the protagonist's face as the main feature of the poster in order to introduce the character. The lighting on the close up is very high key which contrasts to the black background, something that was inspired by the film poster for Black Swan.
I have added the tagline 'Am I losing my mind? Am I Losing Gracey?' that is actually a line from the voiceover in the opening sequence. By adding it to the poster it creates an enigmatic code yet also introduces the name of the film. I made sure to distinguish that 'Losing Gracey' is actually the name of the film by making it the largest piece of text on the poster and slightly darkening the colour to make it bolder.

To fit in with the colour scheme I used a selection of netural and negative colours and used a colour selector tool on photoshop to make the text the same colour as some of the colours I wanted to highlight within the picture.

Research Into Typical Content Of A Thriller Film Poster
In this Powerpoint presentation I have researched the typical content found in thriller film posters. This will enable me to create a poster fitting to the genre we have chosen and help me to include all of the relevant information expected to be found.
Transitions Survey
Transitions Survey
When watching a Thriller genre film, what transitions are
most likely to appear?
Fade into the next clip
Fade into white/black Swipe
3D box effect Iris

What transitions best suit a thriller?
Do you think there should be a variety of transitions or
ones similar to each other?
Do you think a transition such as a ‘dissolve’ should start
when the clip starts, start half way through or start at the end?
What transitions would you use if you were creating a ‘Thriller’
genre opening sequence?
When watching a film, do you pay attention to the
transitions? Are they noticeable?
Out of subtle transitions or bold transitions, what is
better? Also, what is better for a thriller?
This is the survey I created to ask five different people about the transitions of films.

Re-Touched Poster
After creating my first version of the promotional 'Losing Gracey' poster, I realised it did not meet all the conventions needed of a professional film poster. Therefore, I re-touched the original poster and added the conventions needed such as, the tag line, 'Is your mind reality or imagination?', the production logo and the age rating image. This is now more of a professional film poster and meets all the conventions needed.

Thriller Film Fonts Questionnaire Feedback
As part of the research into thriller film fonts, I decided to carry out some primary research in the form of a questionnaire to help gain an idea of what kind of colours, fonts and time lengths (on screen) of titles people would be expecting from a film of this genre.
I gave the questionnaire to a small group of people age 16+ as this is our targeted audience age range.
I found that although some answers varied, there was a majority answer in questions such as 'what colour font would you expect?'. The only colours that were given as answers were red, black, silver and grey. This may influence our colouring decision for fonts within our film as it is what people believe to be a conventional thriller film font colour.
We will take other answers and suggestions into consideration when creating the titles for our film as the aim of the film is to try and please the audience which is why asking them beforehand what they would like is very beneficial to the production of our opening sequence.

What kind of
fonts would you expect to see in a thriller film’s opening sequence?
Out of these

thriller film, Losing Gracey?

2. Losing Gracey
3. Losing

4. Losing

5. Losing Gracey
Which colour font would you expect to see?
Should the titles be on a separate screen (i.e a cut to a
block colour background), be written over clips of the film or a mix of both?
How long do you think a title should be visible on the
screen for?
Do you have any suggestions for the titles in the film?
_________________________________________________________________________________
As a way of increasing audience satisfaction and general authenticity for our film, I feel that it would be suitable to use this questionnaire to gain an idea of the kind of things people would expect from the titles in our opening sequence. I will ask a variation of people, all aged 16+ as this is our target audience and use it as guidance for our production.

The Pitch
The Pitch
A young woman, Gracey, suffers from mental health issues, this results in her mental state shown in the film. The idea of the film is to portray and present the struggles she faces as she tries to fight against her own mind.
Throughout the film, we see her self conscience in the form of another character named Lucy who has been conjured by Gracey's imagination. The character manipulates Gracey and Gracey does not know who to turn to and does not know if she can trust her own mind. Gracey harms and abuses herself at the start of the film, this is the works of Lucy also, which ends Gracey up in the mental asylum.
Gracey has flashbacks of certain locations and of certain people, like the doctors and nurses who are trying to treat her problem. But she feels she can not trust them as she is paranoid that they are going to betray her. This is her main downfall within the film. This finally leads to a twisted end as Gracey eventually bludgeons one of the nurses to a violent death, after being convinced to do so by Lucy.
Shots
Gracey is shown through very fast, quick shots. This will enhance her psychotic state of mind to the audience; this connotes the panic and unstable mentality within her life.
We will use a range of shots varying from extreme close ups to long shots and establishing shots of locations. This will render interest and excitement for the audience and keep the pace of the film fresh.
